The score post the face off was 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 9-7, while the tournament lost its 5 top seeds. Talking about her win Kuznetsova commented that she is extremely happy about entering in the top 16 players of the season.  This three hour thirteen minutes match, the longest one in women’s section, Kuznetsova the 2009 winner took maximum advantage of the Kvitova’s unforced errors and double faults and hence set up a 4th round clash against Lucie Safarova, a Czech national.

Kvitova was a former champion of Wimbledon and back in the year 2012 was a semi finalist. She enjoyed a career edge of 3-0 over the ace Russian, and stepped into the clash on Saturday.
